Bones Fic - "Dopamine" (1/1)

Dear Flist - Hello! I miss you all!

I wish I were still in touch and keeping up with you all, but in truth LJ is just a very long way away from my life at the moment and I've been out of the loop so long that it's hard to catch up. I do come by and check (read: lurk) every now and then to see how you're all doing. Maybe this summer I'll catch up properly =) I hope you're all doing wonderfully and are happier than ever!

Lame quick update: uni = 2nd year, future career plans = ?!, summer = orphanage work in Morocco, learning to drive = expensive failure, Matt Smith = an awesome Doctor.

Now, the main reason I'm here - fic. I'm not writing that much anymore (another thing for summer!) as I found writing so much fic was making original work really hard for me. This is something I did a while back and only posted on, but as the 100th Bones ep is airing in Canada tomorrow and may make this whole fic totally pointless, I thought I'd put it up here too. =)

Much love! I hope you're all absolutely brilliant.

Fandom: Bones
Title: Dopamine
Ship/Characters: Booth/Brennan, plus most of the gang.
Disclaimer: Nothing is mine; everything belongs to Hart Hanson and Fox.
Summary: "Bones, have you ever been in love?"
A/N: Set sometime in S3 when both Zack and Sweets are present.

Fic - "Goodbye", Doctor Who

Title: Goodbye
Fandom: Doctor Who
Rating: G
Ship: Ten/Rose, TenII/Rose
Summary: What's one last rule of time broken when you are minutes away from death? No spoilers, just wishing and speculation.
A/N: The Doctor and Rose have, in one form or another, been in my life since I was fifteen. I'm now twenty. I have changed and grown so much in that time, but these are two characters I have never let go of. This is my final tribute to them before The End of Time.

Fic: Starlight (Glee, Finn x Rachel)

Title: Starlight
Fandom: Glee (not Doctor Who, what?!)
Ship: Finn Hudson/Rachel Berry
Rating: PG-13
Summary: For the 1sentence community challenge - the story of Finn and Rachel from their first meeting to whatever might happen after high school, told in fifty sentences, each written to a different prompt.

Outside in the Ohio weather, her umbrella is yellow like a star, and he sees her shining brightly through a classroom window steamed with the sky's tears.

And, to all you beautiful DW-loving people on my flist - don't worry, I haven't deserted DW or you! I've been ridiculously neglectful of my LJ, my flist and my writing, but I have two or three short DW fics I'm hoping to finish before The End of Time Part 2 airs, if anyone still remembers who I am... =)

Merry Christmas!

Hey, everyone!

I know I'm never around anymore (I use the excuse that I never have the time, but I still seem to spend half my life staring into space or Googling holidays I can't afford to go on), but I just wanted to pop by to say Merry Christmas!

If you celebrate it, that is. If not, er, have a good Friday? xD

Fic: Some Sort of Time Lord Code (The Preamble Remix)

Remix Title: Some Sort of Time Lord Code (The Preamble Remix)
Remixed fic: Some Sort of Time Lord Code, here.
Remixed author: _thirty2flavors
Characters/Pairings: Ten/Rose, Donna
Rating: P
Disclaimer: I own nothing, not even the fic idea!
Warnings: None, except slight spoilers for S4.
Summary: Donna and the Doctor discuss what happened to Rose. Written for the chips_remixed  challenge.

A/N: It was so hard to even choose which fic to remix, here – I am such a fan of _thirty2flavors , and I honestly think this writer is one of the best going on LJ - the sort of writer who makes you read something you may otherwise have skipped past, just because their name is attached to it. So yes – very, very difficult, but I eventually chose this one, took a direct quote from the end and ran with it. The original focused more on the actual conversation; I worked more on the build-up to it. I hope it's not too terrible!

General Ramblings (inc. month-old Robin Hood BBC spoilers for ep 3x09)

Anyone who agrees with Sally Sparrow that "sad is happy for deep people" and who doesn't mind being spoilered for a month-old episode of the BBC's 2006 Robin Hood series (3x09, A Deadly Deal) should watch this, because it makes me bawl every time I see it.

You don't need to have ever seen RH to understand it. It's an amalgamation of all the 3x09 scenes between two people.

He is Guy of Gisborne, she is a random prisoner in the castle dungeons for refusing to marry any of the men her father chose for her. Isabella is Gisborne's sister and Sheriff of Nottingham. That should be all you need to know to follow. The main girl has never been in the show before so it's not like there's a long or complicated history you need to understand.

I think this is honestly some of the most beautifully acted and written television I've seen in a long time.

On a less depressing note, I have a job interview next week! It's only delivering catalogues and selling make-up, nothing much, but I really need a job for the summer so I hope it goes well.

It's so difficult trying to get hired as a uni student. I can't get a job in Lampeter as it's tiny so for starters there are very few jobs ever going, but I'm also not there for a huge chunk of the year, and I can't get a job here because I'm only here for three months over the summer.

However, even if I don't get a job it looks set to be a good summer - I'm spending September in Russia, volunteering in orphanages, schools, centres for deaf children etc, plus weekends off to travel around the country. I'm so nervous but so glad I finally got around to doing this.

I hope you're all well!
